Italy offers a high level of education and a unique cultural environment.
Some areas of studies are internationally acknowledged such as, Architecture, Design, Engineering, Medicine, Economics, Fine Arts and Music.
With 90 universities, 45 Fine Arts Academies and 77 Music Conservatories, University and Academic Studies in Italy offer a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
To be admitted to italian University students must have satisfactorily completed High School with a minimum of 12 years education.

- Private Higher Institutions for Design and Fashion
The learning outcome is in 3 different stages:
- Undergraduate or Bachelor degree (Laurea) a 3-year first degree
- Master of Arts or Science (Laurea Magistrale) a 2-year second degree
- PhD (Dottorato di ricerca) 3 years of training and research
There are some special degree courses
- One cycle or single cycle master (Laurea magistrale ciclo unico) a 5-year master degree for specific studies such as Medicine, Veterinary Science, Law studies, Architecture combined with building engineering.
- One year specializing masters, Italian Universities offer a wide range of Postgraduate programmes which last one year and focus on specific topics
